Easter Price List 2011

Welcome Spring! I am so happy to see my wee flowers popping up out of the garden. And I'm so happy it is almost Easter. I'm excited to be offering Easter baking this year. Below you will find my price list. Please note that due to fuel prices I'm not able to offer free delivery any longer unless you live in Alta Vista or South Keys. If you live elsewhere in Ottawa, I can deliver for a fee or, of course, you can always pick up your baking at my home.

Below you'll find my Taste of Spring package as well as several pies, Paska (Mennonite Easter bread) and butter tarts as well as homemade Easter cream eggs (hooray!). As always, custom packages are available. Just let me know what you'd like!

Lastly, I'm very excited to be offering some gluten-free baking now. The GF list is at the bottom of this post. Please note that while these recipes do not contain gluten, I do use gluten in my kitchen and my utensils and mixer, while cleaned between recipes, do come in contact with gluten.

If you would like to place an order or just ask a question, please contact me using the information in the sidebar. Please have all orders in for Easter by April 16.

Easter goodies

Here in Ottawa we are all pining for crocuses, daffodils and tulips. While the temperatures outside may not be spring-like yet, Easter reminds us that spring is indeed here.

I will be putting up a price list for Easter shortly but just to get you thinking about Easter treats, here are some of the recipes I plan to offer:

  • Lemon Puff Pie
  • Key Lime Pie
  • Acadian Sugar Pie
  • Shoefly Pie
  • Butter tarts
  • Old Fashioned Lemon Squares
  • Seafoam Chews
  • Caramel Toffee Squares
  • Paska (Mennonite Easter Bread)
  • Rolo cookies
  • Homemade Easter Cream Eggs
In a cruel twist of fate, the Sugarplum Fairy has discovered that she is gluten intolerant. Rather than crying myself to sleep each night, I've decided to embrace this as a learning opportunity and work out some really good gluten-free recipes. As such, I'm able to offer the following recipes as gluten-free:
  • Butter tarts
  • Old Fashioned Lemon Squares
  • Homemade Easter Cream Eggs
  • Key Lime Pie
  • Acadian Sugar Pie
Please note however that I still do bake recipes in my kitchen with regular flour which means that my mixers and pans do come in contact with wheat flour.

Christmas is over but the baking goes on....

My friends, although the tree is down, the presents unwrapped and the cookies eaten, I am still baking... or at least, willing to bake. I am indeed taking a little break from the kitchen right now, that is, until someone calls needing cookies.

I continue to be at your beck and call for cookies, pies and squares. Hosting a baby or wedding shower? Having family or friends out of town for the weekend? Hosting a skating party? Let me do the baking for you. Have a browse through the photos at the side or through my previous price lists and let me know what sort of baking you're interested in. I'll give you a price and a delivery date as fast as you can say Hello Dollies!

All full

Apologies to anyone who is left disappointed but I'm not able to take anymore orders for Christmas. The wonderful coverage on SavvyMom Ottawa and word-of-mouth has meant that I'm at baking capacity! However, if you are planning a New Years celebration and would like some goodies, please see the packages below or pick and choose and I'd be happy to put together a custom order. Thanks for your patronage!

Recipe List

Caramel Toffee Squares Will put you in mind of a Twix Bar. A shortbread crust covered in thick caramel and topped with chocolate.

Choco Toffee Snowballs After one taste, it quickly became one of The Sugarplum Fairy’s favourite cookies. This is a classic Christmas cookie that will leave you wishing Christmas came more than once a year.

Chocolate or Butterscotch Confetti Will take you back… straight to the ‘80s! Mini marshmallows covered in melted chocolate or butterscotch chips and peanut butter. A childhood favourite!

Double Brownies If you like traditional chocolate brownies, imagine them swirled with butterscotch and topped with a brown sugar icing.

Gingersnaps Mum’s famous ginger cookies. Wonderful for dunking.

Hello Dollies The Sugarplum Fairy’s most asked for recipe. A buttery graham cracker crust layered with sweetened condensed milk (you already know it will be good!), pecans, chocolate chips and coconut.

Marble Swirls Chocolate and vanilla, the perfect combination. This crisp cookie is a marble cookie perfect to accompany coffee, hot chocolate or nothing at all!

Nanaimo Bars No Canadian dessert tray would be complete without them.

Orange Kisses A shortbread-type cookie, delicately formed into a bite-size round and topped with a dollop of orange-flavoured icing and garnished with orange zest. Sure to be a new Christmas favourite.

Shortbread A traditional family recipe. Our Scottish roots serve us well in this recipe. One (very large) pan contains a full pound of butter. If you’ve been wanting a proper shortbread, you’ve come to the right place.
